Mrs. Moore is our February Staff of the Month! 💙 The word for this month was Compassion. Those who nominated her said: “Mrs. Moore cares deeply about her students and their growth as individuals. She is always going above and beyond to make students feel loved and wanted. She tries to get to know them on a personal level so that she can build relationships with them. Students love her and how she makes them feel. They know she is a safe place to go if they need someone. Her room is inviting and she treats the students the same across the board. Mrs. Moore is the definition of compassion.”
College Road Trip: The high school will take a bus load of 10-12th grade students to 3 colleges in one day on April 3rd-(over spring break)! Sign your student up today!
Good luck to our boys Wrestling Team on their way to the State Championship!💪🏼💙
Due to icy road conditions at the school, the Sweetheart Dance scheduled for tonight is cancelled. We will make every attempt to reschedule the dance and will post that information sometime next week.
Congratulations to our January Staff Member of the Month, Mrs. Jacaty! The word of the month was commitment. 💙
“Mrs. Jacaty has remained committed to the creation of the agricultural science classes. From when it first started as a classroom in the science hall, to now under her leadership it has grown to a program that blossomed into classes that can span a student's four years of high school. She has taken under her leadership an FFA program that gives many students in our school a place to feel like they belong. Just because it is a day off school for other teachers in the building, scheduled or not, it does not mean that Mrs. Jacaty does not still have responsibilities that she can walk away from for a day or two. She has even been known in bad weather to sleep in the room in the barn so that she can be there to care for the animals. She is a rockstar.”
January 11, 2024,
Hillsboro R-III School Community,
In light of the latest weather predictions, we anticipate potential weather issues in our area around 3 p.m. tomorrow. Out of an abundance of caution, we plan to adjust to a three-hour early release schedule for Friday, January 12, 2024. The revised release times will be as follows:
Grades 7-12
Junior High - 11:20 a.m.
Learning Center - 11:28 a.m.
High School - 11:31 a.m.
Grades K-6
Intermediate - 12:33 p.m.
Elementary - 12:33 p.m.
Primary - 12:43 p.m.
The early release ensures that all students and staff can return home safely before the weather worsens.
Extracurricular activities:
Regarding extracurricular activities, All campuses will close by 1:30 p.m. Therefore, practices can be conducted until then, but any activities scheduled after this time will be canceled.
Ensuring the safety of our students and staff remains our foremost concern. Decisions influenced by weather forecasts are challenging. However, the risk of an ice event occurring while our buses, students, and staff are in transit is a risk we strive to avoid. Additionally, it is important for us to provide sufficient notice so that families have ample time to make necessary arrangements.
Should the weather forecast change significantly, with an earlier onset, we retain the flexibility to make further adjustments up until tomorrow morning.
Stay Safe,
Dr. Jon Isaacson
Superintendent of Schools
We share this cool picture of buses lined up at the JH this afternoon to remind everyone to be careful and mindful driving home this afternoon, in the snowy weather moving in. ☃️
We ask Primary parents / guardians to please be at the bus stop to get your little Hawks, thus avoiding delays and traffic backing up behind the buses. 🙂
Let's get everyone home safe! #HawkSafetyFirst 💙

Congratulations to our December Staff of the Month, Madi Rogers! 💙
The word of the month was patience.
Here is just some of what was said about her:
“Mandi's job calls for a lot of patience. She has so much when working with her group of students. And she does so with love, kindness, but firmness. Her students know she cares and but has expectations for them. She is the perfect person for her job and she should be recognized for all that she does.”
“So many challenges happen in room 110. Mrs. Rogers is always patient with all of her students and staff members. Even on bad days she is always smiling while interacting with the students. She does not hold grudges and continues to treat all the students with respect even when they are giving her and staff members a hard way to go. Each day starts fresh. When something does not work out, she steps in and tries something different. She does not give up! She is one tough cookie!”
Mr. Brian Sucharski is our November Staff of the Month! 💙
