Here is a link to our JH teacher office hours using Zoom. Basically, our teachers will sit in front of their monitors waiting for ANY students to join so that they can ask questions. This time is for students who have questions, not everyone is expected to "attend".

Mrs Uhlig’s FACS class was making babysitting posters today. We have plenty of young entrepreneurs who are learning that there is a lot of thought that goes into taking care of young kids.
Mrs Clark has students in Foreign Language watch videos of her speaking and then had to record their reply back to her ....all in Spanish.
Ms Perstrope’s music class presented on different genres of music. Students presented on Doo-Wop and World Music, along with many others. They were great!
Coach Fears facilitated a project on managing stress and fostering self-esteem as a part of her mental and emotional health unit. Students repurposed donated coffee mugs into representations of what fills their emotional “cups”.
Hawks 7th grade FB team beats Festus 16-6 on a beautiful night in Hillsboro.
HJH 8th grade VB had a victory over the Eagles from Grandview 2-0. Great job ladies!

JH VB will only play 1 home game vs Grandview on Thursday that will have a later start of 5:30. You must have a wristband to attend.
What a great two days handing out almost 100 t-shirts to our kids who qualified for our A-TEAM! They worked hard last year, making a 3.5GPA, having 95% attendance, and having no suspensions. (didn’t use any #s after COVID hit). Still need to get these to our VIRTUAL kids.
Our 1st JH home sporting event is this Thursday, 9/17. Our VB teams are hosting Herky with games beginning at 5:00. Spectators MUST have a wristband/ticket given to them by an athlete to attend. Masks are needed to enter and when social distancing is not possible.
Morgan S. sold a bunch of mums for our HJH Cheerleader fundraiser. Great job done by all the girls, selling 194 total! Can’t wait to get my two for our front porch.
JH Football Parents:
Our 1st game at Cape Central on Thu, 9/17:
1) you will pay at the game, no tickets required ahead of time (HS games only)
2) Cape does require a mask to enter the stadium and anytime you cannot socially distance

Blue Team did an incredible job today. I can’t wait to see our White Team kiddos show up ready to learn how we do things at HJH.
It’s been a long 6 months, glad to be back at it again. After 25 years, I still get fired up for that “1st Day” and now we get 2 in a row!
Is it possible to say I have never been more proud of our HJH family I work with after just one day of school?
I just did!
What an incredible effort by EVERYONE to rethink EVERYTHING about teaching and how we run a school in just a couple weeks.
