Hillsboro Students, Parents, and Community, Missouri Governor Mike Parson just announced in the Thursday, April 9th press briefing that all Missouri public and charter schools shall remain closed through this school year due to the COVID-19 virus. While we anticipated that this day may come, we held out hope that our students would be able to return to their school buildings again during the 2019-2020 school year, unfortunately, that will not be a reality. The buildings will be closed for the remainder of the year; however, the district will continue to proceed as we planned by staying connected to our students and community. We are committed to continue to provide services such as much-needed meals to the students and additional educational opportunities. The administration, teachers, and staff are committed to continuing our important work with and for our students through the last day of school, May 27, 2020. Your child’s school will be reaching out next week to share our plan for continued learning through the end of May. We know that the Governor’s announcement will create a number of new questions about specific issues such as: grading, graduation, prom, athletics, and summer school. The district will be working to continue to navigate those issues and will provide information and details when they have been finalized. We would like to thank the entire Hillsboro School Community for your patience and hardwork during the last few weeks and for what is to come in the foreseeable future.
